Climb, Cruise, Conquer – Bear Mountain via Harriman 🏞️🚴♂️
This week, we’ll flex those climbing muscles and be rewarded with jaw-dropping views of the Hudson Valley. Our 65-mile route takes us deeper into New Jersey and up into Harriman State Park, with a scenic finish at the Bear Mountain overlook.
The Route:
We’ll roll out through quiet residential streets, winding through Tenafly, Demarest, Ridgewood, Saddle River, and Pomona, before beginning our ascent into Harriman. Once inside the park, we’ll cruise the beautifully scenic Seven Lakes Drive.
The final challenge: a climb to Bear Mountain’s scenic lookout, where breathtaking views of the Hudson await. After taking it all in, we’ll descend past Bear Mountain Inn, cross the Bear Mountain Bridge, and head up Route 9D to Garrison Train Station 🚆 for a relaxing Metro North ride home.

While the vending machines do take Apple Pay, we strongly recommend bringing dollar bills - there's no potable water. Also bring plenty of snack food, you'll want to fuel up before tackling those hills!
